Transportation to Airport from Hiroshima City Center

Hiroshima Airport

Hiroshima, which means “broad island” in Japanese, is the first city which put its stamp on world history because of the nuclear attack it suffered. The city is the largest city in Chūgoku region and is located 56 kilometers of Hiroshima Airport. It is possible to reach the airport from the city center by using a bus, taxi or renting a car.

Limousine Bus

You can have a touristic trip by passing through the most beautiful corners of the city thanks to the limousine buses providing a budget-friendly and comfortable transportation to the airport from Hiroshima city center. Limousine buses operating every day follow two different routes whose destinations are the same. One of these routes follows the north of the city while the other follows the central route. On the both routes, you will be fascinated by many historical places and the famous Peace Memorial Park offering a visual feat with more than 300 cherry trees. The buses depart when they are full and there is no standing passenger in the buses.

The cost of travelling to the airport by a limousine bus is around 1.340 Japanese Yen. You can buy your ticket from the terminal in the city center for your all urban transportations. The travel between the airport and departure point of the buses takes about 53 minutes but you can take off early because the traffic may sometimes be heavy.

Train – Bus

Even though there is not a railway network connecting the city center to the airport, you can take the train from the city and arrive at the JR Shiraichi station in 50 minutes. This station is very close to the airport. The ticket price of the buses called Geiyo, which carries passengers to the airport from the station, is 390 Japanese Yen and these buses reach the airport in about 15 minutes. When you follow this route, you are not affected by the traffic jam of the Sanyo Expressway which is the busiest road to the airport.

In order to get on the train, you need to use “Rail Pass” and “JR-west Rail Pass” which are not valid on buses. You can buy these cards while getting on the train. The amount you haven't used can be refunded if you deliver the card at the airport.

Taxi

Although there are many taxi stands in the city, you can easily find a taxi while you are on the roadside. If the light of the taxi sign is on, it means that the taxi is available. The left doors of the taxis are opened automatically. After telling the driver where you will go, you can follow the fare that you will pay from the taximeter. Travelling to the airport from Hiroshima city center costs about 13000-17000 Japanese Yen, which equals to 15-200 USD. An additional amount is demanded for night transfers.

Airport Information

Hiroshima International Airport, which is located in the southwest of Japan, is situated on a hill having a wonderful view of the Chūgoku Mountains and Seto Inland Sea. There is no train station since the airport has an unusual location for Japan. Transportation to San Francisco City Center from Airport

San Francisco Intl. Airport

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is located in San Francisco California, 21 km from the city center. The airport is a major transit center for passengers, particularly those traveling from Asia. San Francisco International is the second busiest airport in California and one of the first major airports to have an automated baggage system in place.  

San Francisco International Airport is an important hub for United Airlines and Virgin America. There are a variety of transportation alternatives available to get to the city center from the airport. Train

There are two rail systems that you can use to get to the city center from San Francisco International Airport. The first is the BART, a rapid-rail system. The BART station is located in the international terminal at the airport. The BART starts running in the early hours of the morning, providing easy and fast transportation between the airport and the northern and southern parts of the city.

The other rail system that you can use to get to the city center from SFO is the CalTrain. This train departs on the hour, every hour, every day of the week, until 10 pm. This train provides transportation between SFO and San Francisco and San Jose.

Taxi

One of the most convenient and fastest transportation alternatives to get to the city center from SFO is by taxi. Taxi fares are calculated based on the kilometers traveled. A taxi from the airport to downtown San Francisco can cost between 42 and 62 dollars and takes about 20 minutes. Taxis are readily available at each terminal at the airport and depart from the taxi zones located on the arrivals/baggage claim level. Bus

SamTrans buses provide transportation between San Francisco International Airport and the city center. These public buses are operated by San Mateo County and run between San Francisco International Airport and San Mateo and various parts of San Francisco. SamTrans lines KX, 292, 397, and 398 stop at the airport terminals. Buses stop at the arrivals and baggage claim level of Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 and at Level 1 of the International Terminal.

Rental Car

Renting a car is another transportation alternative to get to the city center. There are many rental car companies that have offices at the airport. Renting a car is also a great way to get around the city during your trip. The AirTrain Blue Line provides access to the Rental Car Center from the airport terminals and it operates 24 hours a day, every day of the week. Rental car companies that you can choose from include Alamo, Dollar, Hertz, Avis, Enterprise, National, Budget, Fox and Thrifty. If you are traveling between multiple places make sure to specify your vehicle pick up and drop off location.

Bike

San Francisco International Airport contains bike assembly stations and parking areas for those who are traveling with their bike or who want to leave their bike at the airport. The BART and SamTrans rapid rail systems provide passengers with bike/transit options and the airport features marked bicycle routes.
