Located in the western part of Panama, near the North Pacific Ocean, David is the capital of Chiriqui State. The city is located on the outskirts of the Cordillera de Talamanca Mountains in the basin where the David River meets the ocean.

David is one of the country's centers in manufacturing, heavy industry, high technology products and communications. The population living in the city, where unemployment and poverty rates are rather low, is mainly composed of people belonging to the middle class. David has also become a valuable city in terms of tourism thanks to the entertainment and nightlife and the mobility of the shopping world. Trekking, fishing, boating, camping tours are organized in the city. A stone building, San Jose de David, is one of the historic and architectural highlights of the city. Cervantes Park is a lovely oasis to be respected in the city center. Various bird species, squirrels and iguanas living in the park are also present. You can eat very well while in David. Fish varieties are one of the tastes to be tried in the city, but cocoa, coffee, tropical fruits and fresh coconut water should definitely be on your list. Only Cordillera has relatively cool weather, located at the base of the Talamanca Mountains. In the rainy season of every month of the year, rainfall increases especially between May and November, and tropical storms can be seen.  For this reason, the period between December and April is considered the best time to visit the city.
