The city’s first airport, Don Mueang International Airport, is a regional commuter flight hub and low-cost airline hub.

Suvarnabhumi International Airport handles the largest amount of international passengers entering the city, handling over 53 million passengers in 2012. Bangkok is a city with a population of 8 million. Like other South Asian countries, transportation within the city can be chaotic. However, transportation to and from the airport is extremely advanced and comfortable.

Suvarnabhumi International Airport

Rail

You can take buses 201 and 503 from the Royal Palace, National Museum, and Phara Nakhon, the historic city center, to Phaya Thai Station. From this station you can get to the airport in 17 minutes.

You can get to the airport using luxury minibuses or buses where you need to connect or transfer in between. Minibuses 550 and 551 will take you directly to the airport. The city of Bangkok experiences extremely hot temperatures and these vehicles were designed taking that fact into consideration. These vehicles are all air-conditioned, providing comfortable transportation for tourists.

Transportation to Melo City Center from Airport

Cerro Largo Intl. Airport

Melo, which is located in the northeast of Uruguay, is also the capital of the region known as Cerro Largo. In the city, which is the ninth largest settlement of the country in terms of population, you can travel from the airport to the center by taxi or by renting a suitable car from one of the car rental offices at the airport.

Taxi

Taxis are among the most practical transportation alternatives that can be used for travelling to the center from Melo Airport. You can comfortably travel to the city center by easily finding a taxi at Melo Airport especially at landing hours of the flights. Taxi fares are not generally high in Uruguay and Melo, but you should keep in mind that the cost will increase if your destination is not close. While choosing your vehicle, you should consider these conditions if you want a budget-friendly travel.

Car Rental

Renting a car is one of the most ideal options especially for passengers who want to travel to nearby places rather than the city center of Melo. Since Melo isn’t close to the capital and other important centers of the country, car rental comes to the forefront as an option offering both economic and time saving transportation. You can prefer a local or international car rental company and rent your car in a short time by following certain procedures. Your car will be waiting for you when you land at the airport if you demand this service from your company.

Local Shuttle

Another transportation alternative commonly preferred between the airport and city center in Melo and in other important cities of Uruguay is local shuttle service offered by local companies. These shuttles, which carry passengers in a comfortable and fast way, connects the airport to the city center. If you want to use this option for your transportation, you are advised to make a reservation in advance. If you don’t make a reservation for a shuttle, you may have to wait for a long time at Melo Airport or you may have to use a taxi instead. The cost of these shuttles carrying passengers to the city from the airport is very changeable. You can travel to Melo city center and other regions by using a shuttle after collecting the most budget-friendly shuttle offers by providing information such as the travel date, distance and the number of passengers.

Hotel Shuttle

If you will be staying at a hotel in Melo or nearby places, you can prefer reaching your destination from the airport by using a hotel shuttle. Those, who want to travel with hotel shuttles, should make a reservation in advance like in local shuttle service. Shuttle options in Melo are less developed and there aren’t many options compared to the country's capital, Montevideo and other major cities. However, you can arrange a shuttle by getting support from the local guides and hotels in the city. When you make a reservation in advance for a shuttle offering service to their customers with a local driver, you can comfortably travel to your destination.
